richy
After the engine bay, i had to paint the engine. I played a lot with alclad, and diferences of shine/flat weathering but it hard to see on theses picts i painted the internal part of the exhaust On the petals, i added enforcements and i shaped the «V» part covering zones are painted with black metal cote thined and covered with a layer of «jet exhaust alclad» then i spray some area with dark aluminium. I come back on details with a soft moving mask and jet exhaust. At the end i use dry pastels to have a powder texture on those covering areas. It ‘s a bit harassing method but the result is beter than what the pictures shows. Edited February 11, 2005 by richy
richy
Engine is now painted. Picts doesn’t realy show tiny painting nuances because metal is always dificult to shoot. On the back of the engine where the light burns the picture, it is weldings made with a very sharp spray of polished silver that i are getting flat quickly on the edges. a view from the back. Many home decals everywhere. A real paradise for plumber. that’s all for today. Next time i send you picts of the engine in the airframe.

OKB Krasnaya Zvezda
AWESOME!!! :o but are you going to display the engine outside the engine bay or inside? cos in my opion if you put that engine besides the airplane with the engine bay opened.... hoo boy!! (I hope that the expression "ohh boy" explains my point of view) anyway just wanna say: great job Ricardo, keep posting pics.
richy
hello, thank you for your comments. As i said, the engine can be totally removed but i have to scatch a trolley if i whant to show it this way. The other option will be to show it with the engine inside and loadout.
