volzj
My nine year old son Drew wanted you all to see his finished MPC X-wing. He's utterly obsessed with Star Wars and is eagerly awaiting the new moive; he's already watched the trailer five times! He did the airbrushing with minor help, and used a wash for the first time on this one. He did all the hand painted detail work himself. He even used Future for the decal gloss coat. Let me just say I was NOWHERE near this when I was his age, that's for sure. There was a nice in-flight clear stand for it, but somehow the "Dark Side" of the force made it collapse. We think... :P
Andy Mullen
Wow excellent build Drew :P
Ken Middleton
outstanding work Drew/Joe! Like I keep saying, he has an outstanding teacher. :P
Bill B
Well done Drew! It loks great the decals are well done and the details pop out. Don't worry about the stand - get a small piece of wood, some brass tubing and ask you Dad how to use a drill. It will be flying in no time! How about a Tie fighter next? :P

TomcatFanatic123
9 years old! All I got to say is WOW!!! I still can't come anywhere near this level, and I've worked on about 20 kits. Sweet work, Drew! Edited March 13, 2005 by TomcatFanatic123
Old72s
Excellent work! I don't know about the X-Wing, but MPC's AT-AT is a very difficult kit fit-wise, which makes this result even more impressive.
GreyGhost
Excellent Work Drew !!! Red 5 shouldn't have any trouble taking on the Death Star in that X-Wing !!! Gregg
volzj
Thank you everyone for the nice words. I'm glad you like the model. DREW
Big'Ed
Drew, that is excellent work. I built an AMT X-Wing when I was about 16, it wasn't anything near as nice as yours. Fantastic job! Star Wars rocks
