TomcatFanatic123
OK, here is my dumb*** question...can the front-to-rear fuselage gap be taken care of by using the "filling w/o sanding" technique mentioned in the Tools-n-Tips section, or do I have to fill it the old fashioned way? I would like to let it be known that the front/rear fuselage assembly is my LEAST favorite part of building a Tomcat...
Skull Leader
well, if the parts fit together with some sort of semblance of the same shape, it wouldn't be an issue. However the parts rarely seem to match up just how they're supposed to, so there are a lot of hard edges that have to be sanded down. Sanding in putty in a lot of those makes it a little easier I think. A place where the "filling w/o sanding" method IS great on those kits is on the underside of the horizontal stabilizers. Since they're hard-molded to the top piece, there's a gigantic gap on the underside. Use it there and scribe in a smaller line if desired
