Zactoman
flanker, does that means that you can do easyly that "paris airshow" model with the trumpeter kitwith low modifications...? Dunno about Flanker - this is Flankerman............ No.................... well - with a bit of work... Then you need to get Zactomans replacement canopy, replacement radome - and his forthcoming replacement intakes :- http://www.zactomodels.com/ Then you need to modify Zactomans resin windscreen parts - to remove the IRST balls. You need to scratch-build a new one - and its mounting platform - and fit it to the starboard side of the windscreen. Unfortunately, you can't use my canopy set to do the SKM as my canopy ends where the Su-27 IRST platform begins. The SKM glass extends forward beyond this point... Edited June 11, 2005 by Zactoman
TomcatFanatic123
Awesome pics Richy! I'd love to see a Flanker in person! But why are you out taking pics when you should be working on that F-18 !

The SKM glass extends forward beyond this point... :) Oh Arrggh !! - Forgot about that. Then you'll just have to re-master/cast your canopy to cater for it Zactoman!! :) Or make a Su-27SKM/Su-35 variant !!!! Ken
Capricorn
Thats a beautiful colour scheme on the Flanker. I wonder if they come up with these camouflages for the benefit of us aviation enthusiasts, or just come up with what they think looks cool ;) Either way, it looks superb, thanks for posting those Cheers Matt For the modellers i think! The russians schemes are not blending the colours, its a mismatch of rather offensive and badly integrated greys, blues, and whites. Compared to the dull and nearly all greys in the west, it stick out like a sore thumb in the air. I saw a coupel of F-16 escorting Flankers some years ago, the Norwegian aircraft nearly disappered agaist the grey sky, the Russians did not ,- so to speak.. ;)
Flankerman
Don't forget that this is a Sukhoi company demonstrator - designed to be photogenic and get lots of column inches. It is not any representative operational camouflage scheme. Still looks great though....
Jim Barr
you will notice that for our friends, in france we don't ask visa cards to refuel surprise gests Since we are not a "surprise" guest having made arrangement months in advance to use that hangar and services, and believe me we PAY big time for every drop of fuel that goes into our birds B) Regards Jim Barr
Quiddy
I love the pics of the Flanker. Personally, saying it with tongue firmly planted in cheek, that they come up with these paint schemes to really screw with our minds!! <_< What color is that, what FS number does that match with?!!? I spend some time with the guys of the "red strippers" for a walk around the superbug. We had a beautifull air show of the superhornet. The cobra of the su 27 still always very impressive... I realy love flankers i also spend some time shooting details of missiles in the russian stand. (Usefull to detail the kit). :)
