Don
Hi all, I understand that the cockpit interior color of RAF "heavies" like the Halifax and Lancaster is RAF interior green...correct? What about the nose/bomb aimers position and the interior of the various turrets? Also, what is the wheel well interior color (black?)? Are there any aftermarket decals available for 1/72 Hallies and Lanc's? Many thanks. Regards, Don
Scott Hemsley
Cockpit - RAF Interior Green. The entire nose, fwd of the back of pilot's instrument panel, turrets, wheel wells - black. This had more to do with the prospect of being 'coned' in the searchlights, than anything else. The remaining fuselage interior (the areas not visible to outside viewing) were left in the natural metal colour of the aircraft grade, aluminum skin. This was just for the sake of speeding up production, more than anything else. As far as aftermarket decals go, what exactly are you looking for? Any preferance to RAF or RCAF squadrons? I'd suggest a search on the Hannant's site, would list most of what's currently available. In addition, Zotz have announced the imminent release of their revised "Sexy Lancs" sheet, with this version featuring multiple Lancasters, of different varients, with all but one of the subjects being RCAF and all featuring nose art. Hope this gives you a starting point.....
lasermonkey
I have a few interior shots of Duxford's Lanc if you're interested. You can find them here: http://photobucket.com/albums/1003/lasermo...ro%20Lancaster/ Hope this helps, Mark.
