Randy Wise
The work has been slow, but I'm still moving ahead. Painted the Lunar Module Ascent Stage using a bit of a strange brew. The aluminum skin on the real vehicles was actually painyed and not left a natural metal. However photographs of the LM in-flight and on the moon show either a bright silver or a beige tint depending on the angle of the sun. So I opted to go with a metallic grey then mixed some chrome silver and white to get a hue that looked reasonably close. Of course the flat black was no problem. The highlighting of the separation lines between the individual black panels was acheived using a silver pencil. So to for the rivet holes. Randy

Grant
Yeah, that 'off-white' look is so difficult to judge from those high contrast, no atmosphere photos. I used Humbrol #41 'ivory' for my bird. Looking very good so far. cheers GM
