Slick777
Hello, im acutally asking this question for my dad. Many moons ago (haha) my dad bought the Monogram Lunar Landing model kit with the moon surface piece. He hasn't touched it since he'd bought it wanting to give it that "special touch" when he had time to give it his full attention. What he's wanting to know is if anyone knows of a type of powder or something of that nature he could dust across the surface with a type of sheen to give it that real moon surface look? any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Dennis in Houston
Try some crushed lava rock and plaster of Paris. You can get the lava rock at Lowes or HD or a nursery supply store. I used a combination of this once for a volcano and lava display If you can find black lava rock, you should be able to duplicate the lunar landscape with relative ease. Dennis. Roi
Well! you could get or make some powdered chalk pastels and give the base a good coat of clear and sift it on. Using greys would be good and then add matching rocks and such from railroad diorama stuff. As for the "sheen" ya got me I never saw any in the photo's just alot of reflective glare.
EF
Crushed wood ash, as in this diorama: http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Fea1...hews/fea940.htm
