Spunk-Y
well found something on the internetabout it here the site is in dutch, maybe a translator online wil work ;). but I f the need to search? I know the dutch F-16's hase a beacon on it witch goes off in an emergency. and I thought the bang seats also gave of a signal if they are used. so got a strong weird feeling that they went down with the aircraft Edited September 9, 2005 by Spunk-Y
Vliegenier
Choppers are heading towards the site of the crash . Still no sign of a chute or the pilot . Word goes it's one from Florennes . Let's hope and pray he's okay ! Stef
Spunk-Y
A chopper has found the remains of the aircraft, the coastguard fears for the live of the single pilot, I he used the seat they already should have found it. again in dutch but it is the only thing I have found
Vliegenier
Weird is that none of the three accompanying aircraft can tell if there was a chute or not . Stef

All my sympathy goes to his family. According to this site it's already the 34th accident with a Belgian F16, killing in total 14 pilots  On the 13 hr VTM news they said it was a twinseater, both crew members where killed  Guess VTM was guessing !! Raptor16
On Airliners.net the latest pic of that bird is dated June 8 2005 so i guess it had its special tail still wearing, here's the pic, FA-
Pete
I saw all four of them flying above my head not even an hour before the crash. It was pretty cool to see, it looked like a bit of dogfighting, two against two. Includig rolls and tight turns. When I went to lunch, I heard on the news about the crash. Very weird feeling, and very sad too.
Fouga23
Just saw the news on VTM. What a piece of b*ll! they have no idea what they are talking about and start making wild guesses. even completely wrong info! At least the BRT had it correct
