yeehah1
12-09-05 Hi guys. Just picked up the MPC Snowspeeder and laughed with disbelief when I saw the pilot. I am wondering...anyone know what scale ( roughly) the Snowspeeder is? I also have the old MPC X-Wing and am thinking of replacing the pilot in that too. Again, same question, what scale, roughly is it? Thanks in advance. Liam ps, anyone got any good reference for the respective cockpits??
Trevor
What... You didn't like the little monkey men? I think the Snow Speeder's close to 1/32nd scale, but its been some time since I threw mine out. I replaced it with an unbuilt SMT 1/48th scale kit.
yeehah1
so would the large x-wing and the snowspeeder be of the same scale then? Liam
Grizzly
I do not have my MPC snowspeeder on my desk as I type, but I can say it is bigger than 1/32. I'd bet on 1/24. Looking at the shooting model or the movie pics, you can see it is a small ship....
madmike
Pretty sure it is 1:24 MikeJ
Khan
Can you post a picture of the pilot? I gotta say I'm damned curious to see the monkey men.
Trevor
so would the large x-wing and the snowspeeder be of the same scale then?Liam I think the largest X-Wing AMT made was in the neighborhood of 1/48th scale. So no, they wouldn't be the same.
The Migrant
The Snowspeeder is close to 1/35, the X-Wing is 1/42. A company called Rendezvous released a resin cockpit set for the X-Wing which also included a replacement pilot figure and R2 unit, you can still find them occasionally on the specialist online sci-fi stores. yeehah1
14-09-05 Well, gents, seems we have a debate going...... Thanks for the replies. If the Snowspeeder is 1/35, then either a 1/32 seated jet pilot or a 1/35 helicopter pilot might do? Liam
Scott McT
I'm not sure on the scale, but here is a good picture site for the funny looking guys. Click here
