Valdis
Hello fellow modelers, I'm starting a new Revell 1/72 Hellcat in an overal gloss dark sea blue colour but I've been having dificulties finding out what paint shoud I use...I have access to humbrol, revell, tamiya, lifecolor and testors..I know Humbrol had Hu181 but its discontinued now..I would prefer acrylics over enamels if its possible, making a slight mixture for example.I've seen some nice Navy planes in the recent PACAIR group build with this squeme so I hope some of you could gimme a little hand on this one.. Thanks in advance and happy modelling ;)
jr_rules2
I've just finished painting my corsair with Testor's model master enamel gloss dark sea blue. It looks exactly the same. Won't be disapointed I assure you.
Randy Wise
Hey Valdis, Tamiya's Sea Blue with just a hint of Tamiya Royal Blue will work. Depending on how much weathering you're gonna do, you might consider toning the color down a bit to represent faded upper surfaces. Randy

DonSS3
IMHO the Tamiya color is good for a weathered "old" finish, while the Testors paint makes for a nice looking "fresh" finish.
Serelle
I don't know about you guys, but Tamiya XF-17 Sea Blue with 20% White looks good to me in 1/72!! Serelle
