Nev
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the RAF due to retire their last Jaguars in 2006? If so, surely we should be doing a group build to honour a plane that has given over 30 years of sterling service to the RAF? Obviously it wouldn't be for a while, but you've got to "Book early Fred Pontins" with these GBs Make a change from all the American jets too who's interested?
Richard E
Sounds like a good idea - I'd be in Lots of markings options from the RAF alone and it could easily be expanded to include French and other markings as well. Richard
mungo1974
those that build in 1/48 are gonna need atleast two years to build that Airfix/Heller kit... So if they start now they may get it done in time for a GB
Mandrake
I recall the Jaguar retirement had recently been accelerated and that all would leave RAF service in 2006. Ofcourse there are other operaters to consider and ofcourse model :P France - Retired last aircraft in July 05. India - Largest operator and still planning on producing them for another couple of years (so atleast another 20-30years of service there) Oman - Will be phased out be introduction of F-16s Nigeria - Never quite operational and have been in storage for some time Ecudor - Not sure of their current status or future plans, anyone? So in conclusion, yes I am up for a Jaguar groupbuild anytime
kstater94
I too would be in! - John
Spaced Marine
The Jaguar is one kit HAsegawa really needs to proffer to us in 1/48. I'd be willing to bet it would sell like the proverbial hotcakes.
Daryl J.
Well, Paragon's back so the timing is at least reasonable modelwise. LoL. The skill-building excersise would be fabulous. Those gun vents on Airfix/Heller are a tad beyond me still. Last quarter 2006 for a begin? Daryl J., who'd join if it were then..........
voodoo101
Anyone make them in 1/48?
volzj
Anyone make them in 1/48? Are you talking kits in 1/48th?? Yes, Airfix has one that with a bunch of work and patience can look pretty good. Here's mine from earlier this year.
spellbinder99
Oman's Jaguars are scheculed to stay in service until 2012. They will be operated in parallel with the F-16 untill then. The Nigerian Jaguars are SCRAP. Airworks personnel visited them 10 years ago with a view to Oman buying them for spares and attrition replacements, but all the airframes have not flown for decades, have been stored outside with no protective coverings and are severely corroded and damaged by weather. So if you do a Nigerian one, a delivery scheme would be about all that could be realistically done. Cheers Tony

Well, it won't be till next year -assuming it goes ahead. I thought there would support as the Jaguar is a surprisingly popular plane round these parts. Now if we can get Neil on board as a sponsor....and get some Model Alliance decals... Now where are Bill Clark, Grahame T and co? Skull Leader - I will also be doing a Jag for the Matchbox GB
