Personalizing Avatar scoreboard label

Recommended Posts

How do I personalize the line of text right under my avatar?

I notice a lot of guys have changed theirs from the automatic designations, and I'd like to do so as well.

Been looking through the control panel section and can't find a way to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Speaking of Avatars, how do you get and load one? I'm not that good with computers, wrong generation I guess, but I do hve one of the two I have been thinking of using if I ever got around to it. I've passed the 1,000 mark and it's probably time I had one.

Can it be changed if nesessary?

For an avatar you need to have a pic that fits (maximum is 80 x 80 pixels) on a picture hosting site like Photobucket.com. Once you have it uploaded there, click the "Direct Link" in Photobucket directly under the pic (not IMG Code or E-mail & IM). Clicking that will copy it.

Now got to ARC Forums, click My Controls, click Edit Avatar Settings on the left side under Personal Settings and past the copied URL into the "Enter a URL to an online avatar image" space. Now hit Update Avatar. And - hey presto - you got yourself an avatar! :deadhorse1:

After about 6 months with the same avatar, mine has disappeared. And when I try to upload it again from my computer, I'm told "You are not allowed to upload that type of file as an avatar or personal photo".

Why? It's the same one. What happened here?

ARC no longer allows direct uploads, you can use the same avatar by hotlinking to a hosted image on photobucket or similar.

If you have a photobucket account (or any other image hosting) just use the image tag for the picture you want as your avatar.

Also, check the size of the image, if you are hotlinking, you'll have to manually shrink the image down to an acceptable size, otherwise it MIGHT not work as ARC cannot resize the image as it is a hotlink rather than an image hosted on ARC as used to be the case

Now all I got to do is to figure out how to post pictures for a group build!!!

Same deal...post it on Photobucket and then get the 'link' from photobucket to the picture....the text will start with <IMG> and

end with </IMG> (square brackets not angled). Just paste the entire thing into your post and the picture will show up. The picture

button does the same thing for you...it just wraps the <IMG></IMG> tags around the URL you give it

I don't see Personal Setting.  I also don't see "My Controls" or "Edit Avatar Setting".  Using Chrome on Windows 10.

Click on windows icon far left bottom screen, next to looking glass search icon. A black area comes up, control panel is on the right side of that black area near the bottom with listings for A, B, C etc
