madmike
Thought this would be a good thread to post those inspiring Matchbox builds to get the GB mood flowing. Here are several of mine to get the ball rolling :) MikeJ

The Migrant
PK-132 Heinkel He70. Built a few years ago as a commissioned project. Nice simple kit, I did have to recreate the decals though as the kit sheet was dried out and glued to the 'protective' overlay sheet.
alvin5182
From a few years ago.................. An RCAF Lysander Target Tug. I think I may have cheated on this one and used the wheels off a Frog Corsair. alvin5182

Santoshi
One of the wonderful aspects of the MBox range was the unique subject matter of some of its kits. One such kit is the Mystere IVa in 1/72 scale. Here is mine from the Revell era with kit decals except for the Leaping Tiger, which I made.
Fester
What an excellent idea for a group build! Here's my almost 20 year-old build of the T-2 Buckeye, as the Greek T-2E. I might just want to enter this group build with a kit in my stash, the other T.2 (Jaguar) kit!
theplasticsurgeon
Matchbox Lightning F6 in 11 Sqdn markings: Another in LTF colours: Same kit as F2A with 92 Squadron: Two seater that I converted to a FAA VG paper project:
Dr Fester
Hey Tim, This FAA Lighting intrigues me, so this was gonna land on the Ark Royal right? I'm only guessing about it being carrier bourne hence the swing wing but surely the Lightning has some of the weakest undercarriage and far from an ideal deck aircraft. Please enlighten me..... Olivier
Hi! Here it is some pics about my G-91Y currently in progress. I complety rebuilt the cockpit and U/C baies with evergreen sheet. I changed the ejection seat by another one in white metal from Aeroclub. All the panels lines are engraved. So this project isn't in this GB "spirit". However, maybe I will join this GB, when this "Yankee" will be finish. Olivier

Merlin_Jones
The Matchbox Gnat. This was a later edition, so it came with two sets of decals, the intention being, to lay on set on top of the other. Even so doing, they weren't quite opaque enough. I used the Xtracolour Red Arrows Red on this model and, whilst spot-on, colour-wise, it took a whole fortnight to completely cure.
Merlin_Jones
The Matchbox Alpha Jet...not the Prototype! This was, again, a later issue, with very, very translucent decals. I decided to paint the red, white and blue and only used the white (-ish) fuselage flashes, stencils and Squadron badges. The end result was a colourful, if somewhat toy-like addition to my shelves. peebeep
This was a later edition, so it came with two sets of decals, the intention being, to lay on set on top of the other. Even so doing, they weren't quite opaque enough.I used the Xtracolour Red Arrows Red on this model and, whilst spot-on, colour-wise, it took a whole fortnight to completely cure. I used the Xrtacolour and had the same problem, but it is a very good match. As well as being translucent the decal sheet that came with mine was mis-printed - the tail flashes were not handed, so I painted one side and cut off the flag from the sheet.
