madmike
Ryan Awesome Siskin. I love the wooden prop. How did you achieve that? MikeJ
madmike
Strewth!! What a ripper finish on the MiG-21!! What are the decals on that? MikeJ
Ryan
Thanks guys.I used the kit decals and made my own 302 decals. The wood prop was base coated with MM wood , then I dragged a stiff, old brush with Testors rubber.I then brush on a transparent raw umber made by Golden ( used for airbrushing). It seems to blend the 2 colours together and give it a nice aged wood colour. Julien (UK)
Cheers for the comments on the Mig guys. A few mods (moved the nose probe) and a later canopy made it into a later model decals are from Albatros Modelworks see the review HERE from our very own Steve Bamford. Decals were for the 45th Anv of the Polish Sqn, why the big fish? I dont know hopefully some one can tell us? Decals were not designed for this kit so a little bit of cutting anf painting in (luckily Gloss sea Blue is an exact match). Did wheels up as liked the way the stand slots into the centre line tank. Bennygmanuk
Hi Ryan, lovely Siskin - I think we'd all like to see more pics . Is it the size of the image file (in kilobytes, rather than pixels) that's the problem? You could try saving it in photoshop or similar as a JPEG and reducing the image quality to compress the file size under the 100 kb allowed for each post. To be on the safe side I'd make it under 90) For web viewing the reduced quality isn't too much of an issue. Not sure it will help but it's worked for me in the past. Let us know how you get on. Steve.
Sean Bratton
Nice job, Ryan - your Siskin turned out great. :) I think the Matchbox Siskin has to rate as one of my favourite kits. Cheers, Sean
madmike
The total filespace required to upload all the attached files is greater than your per post or global limit. Please reduce the number of attachments or the size of the attachments. Here is the message I get when I try to add more pictures of the Siskin. The photos are not large(700x400) Can anyone tell me how to fix this. Cheers Ryan You would need to host your pics on an image hosting site like Photobucket or personal webspace at your ISP. This would overcome the limits issues. :) MikeJ
Henrik B
One picture to confirm my completion (or very near, as mentioned in the build thread I noticed missing struts when looking at the pictures) of the Henschel 126.
Ryan
Figured out the picture problem and added a few more above. Thanks for the help with this.

Bennygmanuk
That has to be one of the nicest builds we've had. Glad you persevered with the pics. Steve.
ferrw
Here is the first of my projects, the Matchbox Gladiator. A 2 week business trip has made my deadline today so no rigging. It is in the markings of the Chinese air force. Bill Edited March 15, 2006 by ferrw
ferrw
Here is my second project. This Fury was going to be in South African markings, but my "new" deadline (last minute business trip) forced me to use the kit decals. After I get back, I'll strip it down, finish making the decals, repaint and rig it. The Fury is a pretty plane in any markings. The top wing is held on with white glue to help in the future "deconstruct". <_<
breadboard
Hey Mike !, just how many kits have been built so far - it seems like hundreds ???

jRatz
OK, my 4th entry -- although it is the first one I started. I had some bad luck as I was finishing and dropped it, breaking off the upper wing. At that point I patched it up & decided to forget the rigging. I may go back and rig this later, or better yet, I'll do a much better job on the one waiting in the stash ("There is another", Yoda) -- I love this aircraft ... It is constructed OOB, with non-kit markings for RCAF 9th Bomber Recon Sqdn based at Bella Bella on the west coast of Canada -- I got some pix from the book Jericho Beach, others off the net. 937 had the four-colour countershading scheme, but I believe it retained the aluminum undersides. There are two errors -- it should have the four-blade prop and should have bomb racks ... IMHO, this is one great kit -- Matchbox had a winner here. Wish I had done it better justice .... John, who has one more in the queue ... Edited March 22, 2006 by jRatz
archerwin
This is the He-111 kit with Superscale Decals. The original decals already disintegrated and deemed unusable... This was a truly enjoyable build... as evidence, I have purchased 2 additional matchbox kits!!! do-x and the walrus... :o

breadboard
Wessex at the 96% mark. I wont have the camera again till after GB is done so this will have to do.
Grant
Snazy. Blades are way too straight , but I know how scary it is trying to bend them! I do like those Navy SAR schemes, they look great in the display cabinet. Another nice Matchbox finished. cheers Grant
madmike
Hal Looking nice mate, well done! The Matchbox Wessex may not be as good as the Italeri offering but it does build up nicely with a little care. MikeJ Edited March 26, 2006 by madmike
