raptor22
Are the AAM-4s remotely close to AMRAAMs? I saw this pic of the new Hasegawa JASDF 1/48 missiles and was wondering about the AAM-4s. What if one clipped the aft fins, would that remotely represent an AIM-120C (plus some TwoBob's AMRAAM decals)? See pictures below: If the answer is no, the please pardon my lack of knowledge. Thanks! :-) Edited October 19, 2005 by raptor22
hatchet
What if one clipped the aft fins, would that remotely represent an AIM-120C (plus some TwoBob's AMRAAM decals)? Hmm, that might work. You'll need to reshape the rear fins a bit, not just cut them down. I'm not sure that the forward fins have the right span tho', but that could be checked. HTH
chenc544
AAM-4 3.66 m (12 ft) Length 0.77 m (30 inch) Span 0.20 m (7.9 inch) Diameter 220 kg (485 lbs) Weight AIM-120C 12 ft 20.7 inch 7 inch 356 lbs Wing span and shape is going to be the biggest difference. The AMRAAM also looks to have a sharper nose from these pics. Edited October 19, 2005 by chenc544
