skuki
Hi Everybody, I suppose this is the best place to ask. I am in need of some pictures of engine bay and engine for Prowler, I suppose I can use pictures for intruder also. I would like to start, in fact I already started it, hase 1/72 prowler but all of my work is now pending because I can't find any decent pictures of engine bay, I don0t want to cut something wrong. Well, thanks in advance, any help is most appreciated. Regards

A6BSTARM
What exactly are you looking to model in the engine bay? Is it the with or with out the engine in the aircraft. Because if it is with the engine in then you just need to look at pictures of an Pratt and Whitney J-52 engine installed in an A-6 and know that the hook ups are the same. The biggest difference between the straight J-52 in the A-6 and the J-52-P-408 is that there is an extra compressor and turbine stage inside the engine and that it was "hot rodded" (to use a technical term from a Jet Mech in my squadron) to give it more power to drive the mighty war bird the Prowler. Looking around on the web I did find a shot of the Nose Radome open and the search/weather radar being shown here, and here, This is what the inside of an engine bay looks like with a J-52 engine installed and maintenance being performed on the compressor stage of the engine. Here is a regular J-52 Engine, The Prowler's J-52 Engine looks identical except for a couple stages just past the "white house" which is where the bullet fairing is and that white section just forward of the engine and a couple stages near the exhaust where the extra turbines are located Here is a shot of an A-6E engine bay, again the same sort of view if the engine is installed in the Prowler. skuki
What exactly are you looking to model in the engine bay? Is it the with or with out the engine in the aircraft. A6BSTARM, thanks a lot for your help again, well it depends of what kind of references I'll be able to find, firstly I wanted to do engine bay without the engine and the engine sitting next to the prowler, but now I am thinking of doing only opened panel that is shown on your last link. I suppose I have enough refernces for detailing engine and panel when looking from side, but I don't have enough when looking from beneth, especially engine. So, the only picturess i need know are the pictures taken from below of the engine. Thanks a lot again <_<
