Trojan Thunder
Well I made a little progress on the Wessex mainly getting the insides ready to close it up. I cut the seats down and reshaped them and have added some mesh to the nose engine intake area. I didn't like the look of the 2 gaping hopes in the nose. I have also added the fuselage windows but will leave the door off until masking just in case I push one or two in during the attempt. Won't get any more done for a couple odf weeks as I will be away. Ray
Trojan Thunder
A shot of the nose bits and the cocpit and instrument panels. I might also add some tape belts to the seats next as well.

Grant
Ah! the cut'n'shut version. I like the instrument panels and the grill mesh. What did you use for that? It looks very effective. cheers Grant
Trojan Thunder
Thanks Rotorhead and Grant! I had a bit of brass mesh in the spares box which came from a motorcycle kit my son built. I knew it would come in handy one day Ray
Trojan Thunder
Well got the cockpit together and some major assembly work done. I was not happy with the nose section as while I was on holiday I was fortunate to find a presevered example of a RAN Wessex at the Queensland Air Museum along with some other great gems! Here is a picture of what the nose area is supposed to look like:
Trojan Thunder
So I cut another hole in the centre of the nose section and added some more mesh. Not quite correct but a bit closer to the real thing :D

Trojan Thunder
Looking really great! How did you go with the fit of the main cabin floor, near the door? MikeJ Thanks Mike, Well the floor does not sit flush, but I am not concerned as I plan to close the door.
