BillL
I finished Eduard's 1/48 Messerschmitt Bf 108B-2 Taifun ProfiPack kit today. This was a squadron "hack" for IV/JG 51. The camo colors are WEM enamels, and I used the kit decals which are printed by Tally Ho. This is pretty much OOB, but I opened one canopy hatch and added a cord to it. It was (and maybe still is) on sale at Eduard's website for $14.95. DEFINATELY the nicest fifteen-dollar model I've ever built ! Please forgive the dust. I must have the dustiest apartment in New England !
Sgt. Shlitz
Very cool model! Great job on the build! I must say that this is an unusual subject. Bravo Zulu!!!
Ellis
Wow that is absolutly superb Bill and so are the photos. I have a freind who used the WEM paints and he had problmes with them did you have any? Anyway your 108 looks awesome especialy the cockpit
BillL
Thanks Sarge and Ellis ! Ellis - I found thinning them to be a little tricky. Thinned at about 2:1 (paint to thinner), I got a rough texture. Adding more thinner allowed them to spray more smoothly, but coverage required quite a few coats. I used Model Master airbrush thinner on this one, and I may try lacquer thinner the next time I use these paints. Thanks again !
David Walker
It looks great. Very nice job. And I've heard that WEM paints do prefer lacquer thinner. As I'm planning on shooting some tomorrow I guess I'll find out.
