I did one of their first kits (the Su-26) and mainly the smaller parts were really crude. Newer kits are much better, but they are always short-run kits (so-so fit and lack of detail on smaller parts). I also don't like the softish white plastic they use. It's hard to get a sharp wing trailing edge with that plastic and it needs a lot of glue for a proper bond. The clear parts are really bad on early kits (far from crystal clear) and better on recent ones. Anyway they make kits that no other makes, well, almost, as Trumpeter lately has released the Tu-95 (and Tu-142) and Tu-160 after A Model had released their fibreglass ones.
