My most recent builds and the first of the year.  The first two were finished last year.  The truck was just finished.

This is a Tamiya 1/48 version of the 2 1/2 ton 6x6 cargo truck (CCKW-353).  These basic trucks were used for many different roles and I had always wanted to do something different with one.  I've built the standard cargo truck and the fuel truck.  I felt a gun truck might be interesting to do.  I started searching for the gun part as I already had the truck.  I found a 20MM M45 quad gun anti-aircraft turret that was trailer mounted. This was a 3D printed kit made by FC-Model Trend (fcmodeltrend.com) out of Spain. I just discarded the trailer parts and mounted it in the bed of the truck.  The 3D parts were highly detailed but there were no instructions to assemble and there were many many many supports that were difficult to remove.  I cut down the stake side panels of the truck bed and created an ammo box out of balsa wood.  Now that this is built it has created the idea to make a little vignette.  I hope that more of these kinds of models will come.

Nice F7F.  I had to put a ton of nose weight in mine so it wouldn’t tail sit.  I still catch it sitting if I move my case.

The replacement nose is pretty hefty and I filled the front wheel bay with lead shot and under the cockpits.
Good thing it has brass landing gear.

1/48 Esci Starfighter for a customer. Ripped apart a old Hasegawa Starfighter to use the better parts to enhance the crappy kit.

Should have just repainted my old Hasegawa kit.
