Liam J
Is Model Master "RAF Sky Type S" the RAF undercarriage colour used in the Battle of Britain? I'm doing a 1/48 Spitfire Mk II, flown by Douglas Bader in November 1940. Help in accuracy is greatly appreciated. Edited April 21, 2006 by Liam J
Graham T
AFAIK, Spitfire wheelbays & insides of the doors were always the underside colour (in this case sky), legs were laquered aluminium. HTH

zeus60
I am about to build a Spitfire. This was helpful. Thanks. By the way, is the same true for Hurricanes?
David Walker
Usually the Spitfire undercarriage legs were only silver until their first overhaul at which time they were usually repainted in the underside color. On the Hurricane I'm afraid I can't help you but if you post the question over on the Props area I'm sure you'll get a quick response.
