simon8
What colour should I paint the undercarriage bays & legs of my Gripen? The instructions in the Best Kit say to paint them white, but the photo booklet shows them in what appears to be grey. TIA Simon
JR Shirley
I checked my reference photos and found the early models look grey, but the later versions are white. However the photos of the early models may be deceiving. If I could figure out how to attach pictures i would, send me an e-mail and I will try to send them to you directly. Lansen
White is only used for the rims. The main undercarriage colour is a very light grey, almost identical to Humbrol 196. Per
Spaced Marine
Hmm... sounds like they are using either camoflage grey or aircraft grey for the legs. I too have the Best Choice kit, but I haven't looked at the painting call outs yet.
JR Shirley
Here's a pic of the main gear bay for a "C" model. The bay and gear look white.

KRI76
The landing gear are not white but very light grey! I have seen them many times and - believe me - as Lansen says they are grey. /Kristian
