HGE
Anybody got a link to info on this new release? What do they mean " 3 in 1" kit? Is it a nice kit? Better than Hasegawa's ? Better than Fine Molds?
Murph
It's actually a pretty old kit from the early-mid 90's IIRC. It has the typical Dragon pebbly finish and the fit of the canopy leaves a lot to be desired. It does have a much better detailed cockpit than the Hasegawa kit and recessed panel lines. Personally I would go with the Fine Moulds kit. EDIT: Turns out the Hasegawa kit does have recessed panel lines; here is a review http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/port...se/ki-61_jh.htm Regards, Murph Edited May 31, 2006 by Murph
Ken Lim
I'm just guessing but from DML's Armour kits '3 in 1' means you have piles of extra parts to do either one of 3 different versions of the beast. Not sure how this would apply to the Ki-61, unless they give you bits for a Ki-100 and something else.

Not sure how this would apply to the Ki-61, unless they give you bits for a Ki-100 and something else. No Ki-100 parts. As-is, it is a Ki-61 Otsu. New wing gun parts let you build a Ki-61 Hei. A new upper gun cowl lets you build a Ki-61 Koh. There were several variants of the Ki-61, some were longer than others, one variant had a low spine and 360-degree view with the new canopy, but this kit is not so radical.
