Academy F/A-18 1/32 intake and LEX / Shape - flaw?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I really think that kit is absolutely great, and a dream to have come true finally, especially for all Hornet fans.

Two things I stumbled across this splendid kit though are the shape of the intakes and the LEX.

The intakes look to me as if the necking is too close, especially at the lower part of the tube. Another thing is the shape of the LEX's edge just below the LEX fence, forward of the Leading edge flap. On the real thing, this looks smoother or more rounded than on the kit.

Can anyone confirm my observation? Again, I really love this kit, and still have to build one, it's just those two subjects that I was always wondering about, when looking at all those gorgeous models build by this outstanding communities members.

Well, if those turn out as real flaws, correcting them would be quite challenging, especially the intakes :)

Thanks for your feedback!
