Ben Brown
I’m looking forward to Tommy’s F-4 book! I seem to recall seeing a 1/48 vac one piece windscreen many years ago. I think you’re right that it was Maintrack. Ben
Wild Weasel V
I'm not a big fan of resurrecting long dead threads but it seemed appropriate in this case given some of the information it contains on which jets were fitted with them since it now looks, at long last, we are going to get cleaar resin versions of the F-4 single piece windshield. In Hannants' Future Releases listings Procal Decals, who have produced some rather nice Hellenic Air Force decal sheets, are going to do one for either the Hasegawa or Meng Phantoms. There's no indication of a Zoukei Mura option but maybe they're waiting for the Z-M 'Late F-4E' kit to be more widely available outside Japan. The SpeedHunter Graphics 'USAF Gunfighter Phantoms', 'SEAD Specialists' or 'Combat Weasels' sheets all have one or two subjects with the single piece option so you can now do one of these jets without trying to make one from scratch. F16CrewChief
Not to shift the discussion away from the F-4 windscreen, but a curved single piece windscreen was tested on an Arizona ANG A-7D back in July 1988. Here is a photo I took of the jet on the ramp at Tucson IAP. Good times!
Niels
Very cool to finally see a single piece windscreen for the F-4 🤩 And also cool to see a thread started some 18 years ago still has relevance 😆

BWDenver
The one-piece windscreen on the F-4E was a bit of an oddity. They were primarily airframes assigned to the 110th TFS at St Louis MO. One of the advantages to being at the doorstep of the factory. the pilot I was with mentioned that while it was a better windscreen to look out of, it was not as strong as the 3 piece. These shots were taken over the July 4th 1991 weekend when I was attending CH-47D Qualification Training at Ft Rucker. I flew up to Missouri to se my dad and mad a point of driving into St Louis to shoot the ramp. The aircraft were shipped to some of our overseas allies. The Turkish pilots asked if they could keep the sharks mouths. The US pilots smiled and said of course!

Niels
@ThePhantomTwo I think that photo might have been from before it got the one piece windscreen, as it shows it with the regular one? This photo of the same jet albeit in Greek service does show it though: Aircraft Photo of 68-0424 | McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II | Greece - Air Force | AirHistory.net #320765
