model_madness
Whilst cleaning my a/b this evening i noticed a very tiny slight kink at the tip. I managed to straighten it out for all intents and purposes with my thumbnail. Must have happened whilst i was backwashing with kitchen towel and applied too much pressure My question really is how will effect the spraying/action of my a/b if at all. Note it is only a v tiny kink, hardly visible at all. A fellow modeller mentioned a could try straighten it out with fine sandpaper by filing up and down the tip?? Its bugging me now
FlyingSnowmew
Dings in needles and other deformations can affect the spray pattern. Since needles are so precise, you can't really fix them. You can only replace them. Try spraying dark paint on a light surface or vice versa to see if the spray is affected.
terryt
I've straightened out fine airbrush needles by rolling the tip on a piece of glass. Haven't had and problems with them. Edited August 19, 2006 by terryt
gregax
And you can use nail polishing sticks to polish the imperfections out. Worked for me.
modelman62
Just lightly turn the tip on a piece of sand paper, like a 800 grit.
phantom
TerryT does what I do. Acouple swipes in direction of airflow with a nail file stick. But every once in a while you will need to replace those suckers.
