F-15B/D question for those in the know

Fully combat capable. They lack the ALQ-135 internal jamming system, but are otherwise the same as -A/-C models.

They are seldom employed in that manner, but it has been done in the past.

Thanks Ken, Waco! Would a fully armed 4 AIM-9/4 AIM-7 loadout with drop tanks be feasible?

Yes, although the lack of an internal jammers means the centerline tank might be replaced with a jamming pod. Both USAF and Saudi tubs flew armed missions in Desert Shield/Storm.

Makes sense. Thanks.

You wouldn't happen to know if the E model has an ALQ-135 stashed away somewhere else in the airframe since it also must have that bay taken up by the rear cockpit?

And that explanation of the limited functionality of the rear cockpit of the F-15B/D also perfectly explains why developing a two-seat combat capable F-22B would have been a total waste of tax-payer dollars. It's simpy not worth it.
