Hey all,

I'm looking into getting a new airbrush. I am thinking of either a Badger http://www.dixieart.com/Badger_155_Anthem_...Airbrush.htmlor Peak http://www.bearair.com/prodinfo.asp?number=100320 brush. I have an Aztek 4308, which works fine, but I have had to replace the body twice now and need a new nozzle. I think that I would prefer something a little more robust.

Has anyone got any reccomendations that aren't TOO expencive?

Any one got any experience with these brushes??

Cheers,

Nimrod

One week ago I purchased a Paasche VL from my LHS, it's dual action and comes with 3 tips (#1, 3, 5 )

for $69.95. This is my first airbrush so I can't comment on longevity but it is NICE!

From what I have heard the Peak is an Iwata clone. I have an Iwata HP-C which is also a gravity feed brush. I didn't see a price for that Peak model but if it is comparable with the Badger 155, I would choose Peak.

I have two VL's. The first one I have had for at least 20 years and it's still going strong and it gets used about once a week. The second VL I just bought last fall and really haven't used that much. I highly recommend the Paasche VL

I purchased a 155 Anthem last fall to take over from my Badger 150 that I have owned for 20+ years. The 150 still works but internals are wearing out and at times was compromising performance. I could have sent it to Badger for an overhaul, but I landed a good deal on a 155 Anthem. I HAVE NO REGRETS! Absolutely a great airbrush. Performs well has great shooting characteristics and is better weighted and balanced than my old 150. It is also easier to keep clean.

There are so many good airbrushes today and as such can complicate choices. But I would have no problem recommending the 155 Anthem.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm a bit spoilt for choice at the moment. If there are any other brushes other than the ones that I have said here that you would reccomend (Other than AZTEK.... ) I would gladly hear them :D

Thanks again,

Nimrod

Three weeks ago I'd have said "Get a Badger Anthem", then I bought an Iwata Eclipse CS - it's a quantum improvement - easier to clean, but before the cleaning, better results.
