Airfix is such a great company with a pioneering track record and great products for low price.

I don't think there's a modeler on these boards that hasn't built at least ONE of their kits!

Hell I bet every model builder in the world would donate $10 just to keep the company afloat.

hopefully they are able to solve the problems of Airfix the only one adding British subjects as there are Buccaneer and the Lightning. Also where would we be without heller? about the only company giving us the French aircraft. And last but not least how do we get our models painted without Humbrol paints?? after Revell the best paint when working on FS numbers.

from Bloomberg.com

Hornby Plc (HRN LN): The maker of Scalextric model car- racing kits, and Revell AG, a German model company, may be among potential buyers for privately-owned Humbrol Ltd. (48319Z LN), the owner of Airfix Ltd., the London-based Times said, without saying where it got the information. The shares rose 1.25 pence, or 0.5 percent, to 261.75 pence.

If Revell is buying Airfix, that would lead to the End of the Airfix label and with it also the end of Humbrol paints, as Revell is having their own paint series. Just let us hope Hornsby is the buyer of Airfix, Revell took already the famous Matchbox kits, reissued them under Revell, and after that never seen again afik only the Victor tanker survived.:banana:

Revell took already the famous Matchbox kits, reissued them under Revell, and after that never seen again afik only the Victor tanker survived. :D :D

Not really true, they packaged the kits under the Matchbox brand as long as they could within legal reasons (with near useless decals at the time in black boxes), but have since released a good few (usually the better ones) in revell boxes with excellent decals. 1/32 Puma, soon to be joined by Spitfire 22/24 and Tiger Moth; 1/72 Dauphin, Victor, Wellington, Walrus and more; 1/32 Porsche 935, Auto Union type D, Bugatti etc; 1/76 Sherman Firefly, Puma, M-40, Jeep/Morris/17pdr gun :D ; lots more besides!
