ChernayaAkula
All told, I would say that in kits, tools and supplies, I have maybe 4 grand worth of stuff, which some people would think is ridiculous. That 4 grand worth of stuff could theoretically last me until the day I die. But then I look around at other people I know and their hobbies. I have one friend who travels the country to go to concerts and sporting events. He spends at least that much every year. Another friend spent more than that on golf, and thats just the clubs and green fees, not including travel/lodging to every corner of the country to play. Well said! Jay Chladek
Concerning aircraft models, my quick and dirty inventory revealed the following: 17 F-14 Tomcats (all assorted scales from 1/144 up to 1/32) 12 A-4 Skyhawks (all 1/48 scale, many different brands) 11 F-16s (all scales from 1/144 to 1/32) 10 F-4 Phantoms (4 of them being 1/48 RF-4s) 7 Legacy Hornets (1/144 and 1/48 scale) But, I would say by in large the highest number of kits in my stash are for Space Shuttles as I have over 30 models in all assorted sizes, scales and manufacturers. In 1/72 I have 2 Revell and 2 Monogram orbiters as well as 2 Monogram full stacks. In 1/100 I have three of the Tamiya orbiters. By and large though, 1/144 has the highest number with 16 kits (4 orbiters, 10 full stacks and 1 747 combo, this isn't counting the Armageddon X-71 Revell kit). The remainder are 1/200 and 1/288 scales. I would say of all the subjects I have, shuttles are probably the one thing that borders on possible obsession since it is the ONLY US space program that has been around since I can remember (even though I was around for the final four Apollo flights, the Skylab flights and Apollo Soyuz, I was too young to remember any coverage of them).
