For all the 1/32nd scale carrier dioramas

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Here's a look at some photo-etched carrier details from the same company that offers the awesome etched Flanker jet pipes.

Set includes steam catapult track, shuttle, tie downs and blast shields. Not cheap but it looks very high quality.

Cheers,

I would love to see someone do a 1/32 blast deflector in resin. Probably wouldn't sell enough to make it worth the effort, but it sure would be nice to pose an F-18 on the cat ready to be launched. I have seen one scratchbuilt effort, and its beyond my attention/interest span to consider.

Extremely cool! Expensive... but cool! Masa Narita did a fantastic job on his Tomcat build but for us snot-nosed novices it would sure be nice to see something like this.

THat's very impressive... almost too pretty to paint

Since they are German, I hope they'll produce a nice exhaust set for the upcoming Revell Typhoon.

Very interesting, thanks for the link! :D

I noticed there are a number of sets for F-14A exhaust nozzles in the works, I really look forward to these! <_<

Cheers,

Anders

No need to paint here. You can use bating. use a standard metal bating from you local hardware shop.

experiment on a test piece though - an aluminium sheet or a thicker alu foil should do. I have only used it once for darkening but it is possible to achieve different colours to simulate the metal finish you want: burned steel, copper, titanium...

Mr. Opitz has used this technique on the nozzles you saw/see - flawless result, I think.

Thx Martin, that's certainly very interesting. Yeah, the way the Flanker exhaust section looks is gorgeous.

Yea, I noticed that a lot of the parts are machined parts, which would definitely explain the cost.

Thats the sort of thing I'd love to get into, making machined parts for models. Ive got the experience & the programs. Just need the machines to do it.
