mdlchiw
Amazing build, Yufei! Does the pavla canopy solve the shape issue of the ICM/Italeri canopy? Regards, Kel
haneto
Amazing build, Yufei!Does the pavla canopy solve the shape issue of the ICM/Italeri canopy? Regards, Kel Thanks,Kel I have not bought the Pavla Models canopy but as far as regarding the picture on some hobbyshops,it's the direct copy of the Italeri/ICM canopy. So nothing solved just thinner and more crystal. I was told by some Russian modelers that the Russian maker Prop&Jet made corrected vacformed canopy for 1/72 MiG-29,but never seen the pics. BTW,their resin nosecone and wheel bays are just fantastic! HTH, Yufei
haneto
More updates, just as I promised! I scratch-built the tow bar this weekend. Using evergreen plastic rods, copper rods and some junk PE parts. The tow bars for MiG-29,MiG-31 and Su-27 are all different....Odd

Berkut
Great scratchbuilding! It is a lovely detail. Do you have any links or pics of towbar for MiG-29 and -31?
haneto
Thanks guys! To Berkut: I only have some pics of MiG-29 tow bar from here by Mr. Anton Pavlov: http://walkarounds.airforce.ru/avia/rus/mi...-29ub/index.htm I also used MiG-29 plans from Zlinek, which includes the drawings for tow bar. Actually Armory's nice gem,1/72 APA-5 starter,is waiting for the next. Time,it's always a problem. Don't push me,buddy,don't...
haneto
great tow bar.now i am intrested will you build a su-25 in 72 soon?i would love to see that one in the progress. Yes,I'd love to!Which Frogfoot is best in 1/72?Kopro?
janman
That's an awesome looking towbar! I'm eagerly looking for the APA since it's something I've always wanted to do myself - now it's finally available! Kopro might be the best Su-25 dimensionally (so they say, I've never checked), but it's quite a miserable looking kit.
dragan_mig31
Yes,I'd love to!Which Frogfoot is best in 1/72?Kopro? kopro is the best they say but it has raised panel lines and virtualy no details.i think that zvezda/italeri + some detailing and correction is the best choice. mdlchiw
Thanks for the info Yufei. Fantastic details on the towbar! great scratchbuilding there! B) Kel
Laurent
Hi Yufei. Your model is out of this world as was the Su-27. Weren't you working on a correction set for the windscreen ? My SMT conversion asks for one. i think that zvezda/italeri + some detailing and correction is the best choice. I didn't look at the Italeri su-25 very closely but I'd like to know if it can be corrected. What take less effort ? Detailing and scribing the KP kit or correcting the Italeri kit ? dragan_mig31
well i don't know fore sure but i don't go in 100% accuracy.i just love my models to look like the real thing.they don't have to be 100% accurate in dimensions.the italeri kit is the same as the zvezda one so the same things apply for the italeri as for the zvezda.i think that i read somewhare that the KP kit was assymetrical but i have no idea where. Laurent
i just love my models to look like the real thing.they don't have to be 100% accurate in dimensions. I think exactly the same Dragan. Now does this look like this ? What can be done to improve the situation ? Edited May 25, 2010 by Laurent
Eastern
Ooh, I nearly missed that beauty. Wow! Yufei! The tow bar is a real masterpiece! Very neatly done, all parts look so crisp even being zoomed! Very deft painting and weathering! Bravo, my friend, my hat off! Alexander.
