Lt Col James "Jimmie" Doolittle and 79 other US Army Air Force airmen launched 16 B-25B Mitchell, medium bombers from the US Navy carrier USS Hornet and flew them to Toyko and surrounding areas. This was the first air attack on the Japanese home islands during WW-II. 72 years later, the 80 "Doolittle Raiders" are down to four, one of them Doolittle's co-pilot on the raid.
