jonbryon
Hi All, Here are a couple of AMK 1/48 Delfins. The Soviet one was built for myself and has added seat belts, Quickboost resin intakes and pitots and static wick dischargers made from Albion Alloys brass tubing. The Czech(oslovakian?) one was built as a commission for AMK and is straight from the box. Both finished with Mr Color paints (mainly 8 Silver) oversprayed with Pollyscale acrylic Semi-Gloss. A more complete build article can be found at www.jonbryon.com/amk-148-aero-l-29-delfin-maya/. Comments welcome :)/>/>/>/> Thanks for looking Jon
Drifterdon
Holy Cow! What the heck is there to critique Jon? These have to be two of the most perfect builds of the L-29 I've seen. Natural metal finish is spectacular and your weathering is light and tasteful vs what we've come to see in most builds these days. I am definitely saving this thread for when I build mine. Bravo sir for two exceptionally well done builds. :worship:/>
AndrewPerren
Top stuff Jon. Really well done on both, I can't find fault. My own build is languishing wondering how to recover from a catastrophic nose gear failure. Great to see these finished.
Bravosierra001
Those are both really nice. I think I like the Russian the best tho!!! Greats photos as well. Brandon
Floggerman
I will look for another hobby now as I'm totally frustrated about my skills. Seriously, a masterpiece!
pollie
Very nice builds! I think AMK made a small mistake with measuring he landinggear though; it seems real L-29s sit much closer to the ground.
jonbryon
Thanks guys. They were lovely kits to build. Jon
jonbryon
I think AMK made a small mistake with measuring he landinggear though; it seems real L-29s sit much closer to the ground. I hadn't noticed that. I think you're right. Jon
Scooby
Both are very nice, AMK should be commended for releasing these quality projects.
Floggerman
I think AMK made a small mistake with measuring he landinggear though; it seems real L-29s sit much closer to the ground. At least for the main gear I think so. The front gear of an empty plane might be ok : https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8c/L-29_Delf%C3%ADn_Hu_01.jpg
