  1. All MiG-17s that flew in the GDR in the late 1970s/early 1980s were flown only with leather caps, although the helmets existed of course and were used on the other types. A pilot told me at the time, when I asked about this, that the cabin was simply too narrow, especially for taller pilots. At least it was uncomfortable.
  2. The Accurate kit is still worth building. With the great marking options and PE parts, you certainly can't go wrong. Except: The spinner definitely needs to be replaced, it's wrong and destroys the distinctive silhouette. I once read somewhere that AM measured the IL-2 in the Prague Museum Kbely - and it has an Il-10 spinner. Too bad that Eduard did not include one.
  3. Good job with the decals. By the way, it's a ML, not MF. What happend with the tail fin?
  4. Not sure if this was already a topic here: http://www.ipmsdeutschland.de/FirstLook/MACO/48-01_Z-37A_Cmelak/MACO_48-01_Z-37A_Cmelak.html
  5. We knew that Trumpeter is a synonym for excellent research. Only because of this could they succeed in making this find in the depths of the archives. It was also hard to imagine that the biggest disadvantage of the Dauntless was not solved after all. (even if it was 80 years later in China) *Irony off*
  6. a couple of notes: 1. There is no such thing as THE Warpac shelter, many countries have made modifications. The mentioned (very recommendable) cardboard kit provides e.g. a Polish shelter with completely different gates than in other countries. 2. On the picture of the ebay seller you can see self-made gates and numerous other modifications. 3. How do I know? I built it, the picture was stolen by the seller ....😡

  8. I would roughen a shiny surface a little so that it adheres better. If that doesn't work mechanically (sandstick or -paper), also with some primer or something. (although to be honest, it is not so clear to me where you have high-gloss surfaces in the cockpit ...) I also attached a part (MiG-29 1/48) with superglue, of course that works too, but you have to be very careful.
  9. I ordered directly from the homepage, payment with PayPal. Fast and easy.
  10. I bought the ladder plus platform for Su-22 (1/48) and I have to say, the overall quality is quite good. The top handrail was a bit bent and I was reluctant to correct it as the parts are extremely fragile. But a welcome addition, I'll be buying more for the next projects!
  11. Don't know the HB kit, but for me (as an average model builder) the Bobcat was a lot of fun and I'm happy with the result.
  12. If you want to build a Russian 9-12, you should forget the wing tanks. Only the German 29G (9-12 modified) are able to carry wing tanks. From 9-13 it was standard.
