KursadA
CD72043 will be a 1/72 sheet for the F-106 Delta Dart. It will basically be a scaled-down version of a combination of my two 1/48 ANG F-106 sheets. Coming later in the year. Edited November 16, 2015 by KursadA
viking73
Nice!! Thanks Kursad. Now if we only had a new kit to go along with it... :( -Derek
Viasistina
True that..but I'll buy the sheets anyway because we have to support 1/72 efforts and that new kit will come.

viking73
According to a thread over on Britmodeller, Wolfpack has announced plans for a new kit. Steven Brown Scale Model Soup Really?! That's awesome! Well I didn't find the thread at Britmodeller you mentioned but my Google search turned up another thread from Zone-Five.net that lists that kit (along with a 1/72 F9F-8T and an RF-8 Crusader yes!!!!), but no due date... Does the Britmodeller thread have due date for this kit? Thanks for the heads up Steven! -Derek
thegoodsgt
Hi Derek, I don't think they've announced a date. Your best bet is to build something from your stash and before you know it the 106 will be advertised from your favorite online retailer.
KursadA
I did not know about Wolfpack's plans either; so it was a nice surprise. There are many thousands of Hasegawa F-106's in the stashes; and I think there would be interest in a new sheet printed to today's standards. My new sheet should work fine on a dimensionally accurate new kit as well as the Hasegawa kits.
KursadA
I finished this design (CD72043) with a couple new additions. Since the Meng kit comes with Montana and New Jersey ANG markings, I replaced these with markings for other units. Edited January 11, 2016 by KursadA
ChippyWho
OK. Just one of the sharpest-suited Darts ever...well, IMO! 318 FIS F-106 "Mrs Peel...we're needed!"

KursadA
The design for both 1/72 scale F-106 sheets are complete, and my Meng F-106 kit is on the way. I will verify the fit of tail markings within minutes of the kit's arrival, and send them to be printed. The first sheet should be available in February.
KursadA
According to USPS, my Meng F-106 has entered the US on Friday, and should be delivered to me tomorrow. I will make sure that all the elements fit the Meng kit perfectly, do the final fit checks and send the first sheet to be printed on the same day. Both of these sheets are based on the proven artwork I drew for my successful 1/48 scale F-106 sheets - many of you have either bought one or seen it featured in builds online and in the modeling magazines. The first sheet, CD72043, will feature markings for the following units: -159 FIS, Florida ANG -101 FIS, Massachusetts ANG -194 FIS, California ANG -171 FIS, Michigan ANG -B-1B Chase aircraft
KursadA
My Meng F-106 arrived yesterday, and I have finished modifying/resizing the artwork for CD72043 and CD72048 to fit the Meng kit. Good thing I did not base the artwork on the Hasegawa kit - there were slight differences in the tail geometry; and while the overall dimensions more or less match, the Meng tail was almost 2mm taller. Any F-106 sheet with markings to fit the rudder (such as Michigan and Massachusetts aircraft seen above) will not fit the Meng kit perfectly. Final draft of the first sheet to be posted tonight, and it is going to Cartograf tomorrow. They should be available mid-February. I posted some photos of the kit parts to this thread. KursadA
Final draft of CD72043, the first of the two 1/72 scale F-106 sheets I will be releasing for the Meng kit. The artwork has been redesigned to fit the actual Meng plastic. There is a smaller, second sheet (not shown) with the USAF/US AIR FORCE markings.
