  1. No worries, I think I know what I´m doing. 😉 What I meant was that I will use the Zvesda kit to practice - I have built 5 or 6 Italeri Hercs, and two AMT Hercs, and one Esci and one Airfix. This will be my first Zvesda Herc and many things are default, especially internal parts, gear and so on. At least these parts will be the sam ewhen I do my MC-130E with a Zvesda kit. I plan to start an extra MC-130E thread to gather all knowledge and intel concerning the Combat Talon I. I already have a couple of pictures and documents, but there is
  2. The Zvesda kit comes with three different noses. So you can choose which one to use. HAJO
  3. Ah, got it! I somehow oversaw K6 in the instructions, and I´m not so far yet. I will use th ekit more as a test project for my planned MC-130E and therefor will reduce some of th ecomplexity, not even talking of putting so much effort in the kit as you did with your excellent build. HAJO
  4. I´m currently starting my build of the AC-130J as well and would like to ask some questions.... First one is: Why are the windows in the fuselage painted over? I thought I´d leave them "clear", but apparently on the original they are not...? Secon done: On the outside of both fuselage halves, at the aft, there is a circle (where the DIRCM would be on modern Hercs). The instructions say nothing about what to do there, you added some sort of detail. What is that exactly? Thanks! HAJO
  5. DET, what is the trouble with the nose? Bad fit? I plan to use the Italeri nose on my Zvesda, but will have as a sort of "practice project" the AC-130J on my list as next project. HAJO
  6. I don't have that part, but I'd try to contact the Revell "lost part"-customer service. Their older Chinooks or MH-47s have the same part in their boxes. HAJO
  7. Hey @DET1460, would you share your experiences so far with that conversion? (Maybe in a different thread). I plan to do exactly the same sometime soon. HAJO
  8. I like it a lot! Great to see a couple of Herks beeing displayed here! HAJO
  9. Is there something special about "Green Monster"? HAJO
  10. I purely build 1/72. As someone already mentioned, I'm "tuned" into that scale now. I did two or three 1/48 builds for friends and felt uncomfortable when "out of my scale". I just like having all my differnet subjects at the same scale for comparison. HAJO
  11. I'm really looking forward to this kit. According to scalemates decals are for a Op Granby-version (Gulf War 1991) and for the legendary "Bravo November". HAJO
  12. Cool! I did a VAQ-33 EA-7L some years ago and will be closely following your build! HAJO
  13. It is already looking cool! I was THIS close to buy an AC-130J on friday for the christmas holidays (after barely finishing my MC-130H), mainly because of your build here. HAJO
