In looking at this photo from jinxx1, did the Blue Angel's TA-4J's not have the slats locked in the up position like the single seaters? I'd never noticed that before, assuming that's the way it always was.

Are those slats silver/aluminum in color? The housing for the slats also looks like dark green/black rather than the usual red.

Y'know, for Fujimi to really make a killing, all they have to do is release their 1/72 A-4Es, Fs , Ms & TA-4s in the myriad of Adversary schemes....not to mention the Argentinian ARs & Brazilian MBs.
Too bad they seem more interested in making cars.

Well, if you don't mind Hobbycraft, you can build both the Argy A-4AR and the Brazilian MB in 1/48. I personally don't have anything against Hobbycraft (although I nearly got mobbed once for saying so!). The 1/48 Hobbycraft A-4M comes with markings and all the bits for the A-4AR and the 1/48 Hobbycraft A-4N comes with the bits and markings for the A-4MB. The only thing missing is the laser designator head on the tip of the nose of the A-4AR. I'm certainly planning on building both over the next year or so. http://www.modelingmadness.com/reviews/mod/chladeka4mpreview.htm

The load is 3 Mk 82's (500 lb.) on the centerline, 2 ADSIDs* each on stations 1 and 5, and Mk 12 guns - you may be able to just make out the link ejection chute for the left gun.

Because of Copyright issues, I am posting less and less of my work on here. When I do post, I usually post links to my flickr account which doesn't allow anyone to copy the image or view the larger res file. I have started posting some images to jetphotos.net and all those files have the jetphotos.net watermark to protect the images. Here is a link to that image on jetphotos

I watched these guys perform about three times back in the day. I remember one of the shows over the harbour. It was almost like they were using us for show centre. Everyone seemed to dive on us. It was at twilight and a skyhawk did a solo routine and even released flares. Something I will never forget! Also another time I remember hoping out of the car and then BAM the six ship blasted right over us on the deck. They must have been travelling quick because they arrived just after the sound did. I was epic! Pity the RNZAF is not what it used to be!

Did someone say Scooter?
Seriously thought, how many of you guys prefer the short nose verses the long nose Scoots? To me the early models look a bit toy like when compared to the E & later models.

I agree; the E and F (without the humps) are the most aesthetically pleasing of the family. The C, and especially the B, look a bit stubby in comparisson. But any Scooter is a lovely machine!

When did you shoot the Skyhawk? There's a Hunter in the background, that's why I ask. BTW, nice shots.
Cheers,
Dave

Just today actually. These aircraft were part of the display at the Air Force Mueum but were towed out for the RSAF Open House.

Thanks for the offer. I have a couple of images in my archives. I was just wondering because I thought they retired the Hunter a few years back. Nice pix. Thanks for posting.

Image request - Does anyone have images of TA-4F 154311 when it served with H&MS-13 at El Toro or VMAT-102 at Yuma in the mid/late-1970s when it wore green/tan/brown adversary colors? I'm looking for an image showing the color pattern on the right wing and tail.

This thread also needs more Scooter images and to be revived. I shot these TA-4F images in 2001 at NAS North Island. Unfortunately, I shot the images on slide film and I scanned them from prints, hence the low quality.

Ahhh... action shot with nice light, bright colors, and photogenic subject. If only I could've done something about the background....

I agree. I still think God meant A-4s to be finished in Light Gull Gray and White...
