Identify this aircraft?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone identify the type of aircraft in this photo from wikicommons (no not the B-17 I can figure that out :taunt: )

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_B-17_Flying_Fortress#/media/File:Boeing_SB-17G.jpg

I've got the Academy ASR B-17 so if there is a kit of this other plane I thought it would be a neat companion for it.

Nevermind, when I checked the link to see that it worked and that time the full caption came up identifying the other as a Stinson L-5.

:D, There is a kit of this aeroplane; in 1/72 scale from one of the eastern european short run manufacturers. Off the top of my head I can't think which one at the moment. I'll have a look for you. I think it's either AZ Model or RS Models

,

:D, Looks like it's coming back into production soon. It's a Sword kit so I wasn't too far off. I've been told that Sword and AZModel are owned by the same person and in the past Sword kits have also been marketed under the AZModel label. I have an example of the Sword Beech D17 Staggerwing which also was sold under the AZ label. Have a look at the Sword model's site. It's in there under the Coming Soon category so they're going to put it back into production again.

The type has been kitted by a few outfits over the years; the one you're thinking of was originally done by Sword and then reissued by AZ later
