nerdling
Yup love the show. My wife and I watched the episode that quote came from last night but I don't remember him working on a Hawk kit.
ikar
Never watched it. I noticed he works on Hawk kits. I used to have some of those, for the princely sum of about $1.79 a for the big ones.
zeus60
There was an episode of Samantha Who? where her dad had a Testor's P-47D on the kitchen table.
Aigore
Robert Foxworths character had a whole bookcase full of models in Falcon Crest and a gorgeous F-111 model on his desk in his office.
nerdling
Ah ok so the box was there but just barely in the shot from about 3:19 to 3:27 in that video. Would not have even noticed except for that photo that started the thread.
Slartibartfast
Does Easy Money count, since it's shown on TV now and again? "Rose, there's a Messerschmitt on the table. Clean it up, will ya?"
viper50
Two or three weeks ago on Tim Allen's show "Last Man Standing" he had several tank models on his desk at his work office. I was shocked to see them. I had to watch it twice. Don M.
zeus60
On The Closer, Commander Taylor had several die-cast planes in his office - mostly props, I think.
mossieramm
This was on Dutch television, many many many years ago
krow113
Alan on "Two and a half men" built the Scooby-Do van on one episode. He even sang the theme song while doing it.
RiderFan
Big Bang Theory is an obvious one I suppose. There's a Revell 1:72 shuttle on the back shelf along with an Enterprise in a few scenes. Plus there's RC stuff show up all the time. There's also a movie called 'Along Came a Spider' with a scene showing Morgan Freeman building a wooden ship model on his dining room table. Funny, I was going to say Big Bang. I've always tried to see for certain but it looks to me like the speed brake rudder is missing on their model. And I think the model later turns up in Raj's apartment and disappeared from Leonard and Sheldon's place, though Raj's might not be the same one. And of course Howard has a lot of space models in his bedroom at his mom's house. Some flying rockets and some plastic. Funny though, I don't think they've ever shown any of them working on a model. Seems like Sheldon would be building a rail car or something from time to time. Of course I haven't seen every episode so maybe they do. Bill
Moggy
Battlestar Galactica - Commander/Admiral Adama builds a ship of the line early 1800's in traditional materials...

xavi84
There was an episode of Metalolcalypes where the rhythm guitarist Toki was building a model and had some planes hanging in his room. I was in a metal band at that time when the episode first aired so naturally I totally nerded out all over that. haha I found this screenshot of the episode. And another with an F-14 covered in vomit. If you've ever seen the show it would make sense to you. Edited April 29, 2014 by xavi84
Slartibartfast
Alan on "Two and a half men" built the Scooby-Do van on one episode. He even sang the theme song while doing it. Another episode, Charlie builds a Firebird (KITT?) and it ends up being glued to his man bits by a jilted lover. Rose?

Winnie
In season one of Elementary one of the suspects own a small airline and builds models, one of the clues to why he's the main suspects is he smells like glue after fixing a cut with glue. (I think they misunderstood, as CA doesn't smell much after it cures, and regular glue wouldn't e used in surgical settings...)
Mumbles
UK and Commonwealth viewers might remember this failed attempt at experimenting with glue sniffing, tentatively identified as the Airfix 1/48 Spitfire V: From "The Secret Diary/Growing Pains of Adrian Mole" produced by the BBC in the mid-80's.
