Hey all, Just been to the local model show and got a stash :D Ok, I've done a few dioramas before and managed to find broken clocks, wooden boxes, etc to use at the bases but the problem is, I have nothing ready made and all nice to use anymore. I've got plywood and skirting board and other bits of wood in the garage along with hacksaws, a jigsaw, a mitre saw and a band saw. I've tried experimenting but I can't seem to get a decent formula for how to make an attractive base when it comes to shape, size, cut, colour, paint and everything to go with it. Hi all, Long story short; I need to make a silly little propeller for my 1/72 Dragon Rapide (you can see the prop above and inboard of the starboard engine. I've tried using plastic card to make it but the scale size is 7mm by 3mm and the card broke in the middle. I'm all out of ideas :/ Any help would be much appreciated. Reagrds, Ben.

Haha I feel a bit silly and embarrassed now  Thanks CF104, I'll have a good look through that lot. I have practised on a number of my old broken models with varying degrees of success. I just need some advice from some clued up peeps :P

Hi all, For an upcoming model I want to learn how to weather an aircraft properly. To weather aircraft I use crushed pastel and just brush it on, this is cheap easy and effective. I also have inks, but I on't know how the hell to use them, I just create a black ugly mess when I attempt to use them. Any tips on weathering? Thanks, Ben.

:D thanks for all the replies guys. I'm gunna go looking for some cheap clear now and try and persuade my girlfriend to "borrow" some artist matt stuff from the art college she goes to :P I wonder if car polish have a good effect... Time for some experiments me thinks ;)

I live in the UK, I don't think we have Future over here. I've heard some talk that it's called "Pledge with future" but I still can't find any of that :/
