TommyP
This is my latest completion: Boeing's big twin in the form of a 1/144th KLM Boeing 777-306ER. This model was based on Minicraft's 777-200 kit, with numerous modifications. I inserted Braz's fuselage extension plugs forward and aft of the wings, did a bit of re-profiling of the nose area, added Contrails' extended and raked wingtips, completely re-worked Contrails' GE90-115B engines and pylons, and finished it off by using a DrawDecal set for the current KLM scheme. All paints were from Halfords' automotive range. This was a fairly straight-forward conversion, but I did create a fair bit of extra work by modifying the engines. However, I think it was well worth it and they are now a better representation of the real thing. Boeing 777-306/ER, KLM, PH-BVA, 'De Hoge Veluwe National Park' Happy modelling! Lancer512
Wow! Really nice. If I can get my Welsh MD-11 just as half as good, I'm happy!
Don
Beautiful paint job...top notch work right there ! Great match on the blue. Great looking airliner. Regards, Don
TheFlyingDutchman
Very nice model! I really wonder how you can build them so fast. Very neat. I just think it could use a bit more detail, like all the antennae and humps and bumps on the roof, and maybe a light wash in the wing's panel lines. B)
BlackCat
Fantastic job. Looks great!

B)/> I've been looking at a few pictures of Triple Sevens and yes you are quite right - an antennae or two wouldn't go amiss! Regarding panel line washes and weathering - I do weather my airliners lightly, but hadn't added any when these pictures were taken. Since then, I've added some streaks to the wings and undersides to dirty her up - but only a little! Tom

Washing does not necessarily have to be weathering, by the way. It just gives certain panel lines more depth, making the model more interesting to look at (in my opinion). What are the black stripes on top of the wings for? Is it some sort of visual ice detection strip?
TommyP
The strips are directly above the main gear and help the pilots know the position of the wheels when taxiing whilst being views through the fin mounted camera. They're only used on the -300 and -300ERs due to the length of the thing!
KRI76
Awesome work! The B777-300ER is one of my absolute favorites among modern airliners and you did a great work on this KLM jet. Congratulations! /Kristian

Joel_W
From a modeling stand point, as I no nothing about airliners other then as a passenger, it's just a outstanding looking build. Clean, neat, with a fantastic gloss paint scheme. Well done. Joel
