Rodney
After seeing some great Skyhawks here, I've felt the need to start one of my own. I have about a dozen Hasegawa A-4 kits but thought I'd start the one that's been in my stash the longest. Not sure about markings yet. Here is the base kit: I actually got this kit out on Wednesday and started work on it. Work and home life is busy. I'm coaching my son's soccer team, so here is to hoping for slow but steady work to get it done. Rodney
Rodney
Got some time in over the weekend to get the cockpit mostly finished. I haven't decided on using a True Details ejection seat or the Aeroboost A-4 pilot. I'd disappointed in the pilot, seems a little undersized and isn't molded to have the stick installed, much less held. I'm working on the intake seams and should be able to glue the two halves together soon. Rodney
Rodney
Not sure why pics came out so small. Playing with the settings in Photoshop.

Rodney
Some progress. Need to glue on the remaining antennas and mask the clear parts. Then, it'll be ready for painting. I decided to go with a closed cockpit since I really like the lines of the A-4 with the avionics hump. Rodney Edited November 22, 2015 by Rodney
Rodney
Well, I thought there was plenty of time left in 2015 to finish my A-4... wrong. I even had plans to work on it over the holidays but got snowed in at the in-laws house. Here is where my A-4 stands as of today. Went ahead and painted the walk ways and nose. I'm using the Steel Beach mask set for the control surfaces and the Eduard mask for the canopy. The Eduard mask was ok for the wind screen but was unusable for the main canopy piece. Got the white parts painted and masked using the Steel Beach masks and Tamiya tape. Top painted. Next, need to mask and paint the red intakes and slats now. I'll post the finished jet when done. Thanks, Rodney
