  1. Actually, that helps. I have an old Apex kit, and a newer one from Micro Scale Design. They are basically the same kit. The MSD has parts for a Soyuz TM space craft, but the booster rocket is the same. The whole reason I brought this up is I got the new Good Smile Company Soyuz and Transporter and wanted a more accurate rocket. Ken.
  2. What about styrene kits? Any good? Ken.
  3. What is the best option for a 1/144 scale Vostok-Soyuz Launch Vehicle. There seem to be so many different ones available. Ken.
  4. I knew that some other countries used them, but I didn't know if the US ever did. Thanks! Ken.
  5. Does anyone know if the US Coast Guard ever used Huey's and if so what they looked like? Ken.
  6. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions for the KMC 48-5061 TBF Avenger Upgrade set? Ken.
  7. Damn, that's a shame, he was a good guy. I have his book on building the UH-1C, a great resource for anyone who wants to build a UH-1B/C/M gunship. Ken.
  8. Kiwi Resin 1/24 scale UH-1 Interior Upgrade Set. I was faced with the unwanted task of having to scratchbuild or modify a lot of the interior of the Huey when I saw Kiwi Resin came out their new update set. So I bought one (two actually). They list at about $35 each. When they arrived, one set was fine, but the other set was missing some parts. I sent them an email explaining the problem, and they immediately sent me the missing parts. Their customer service is top notch. The casting is about what you would expect from a resin set. There is a lot of flash and bubbles that have to be clea
  9. Next they give you parts to rebuild the armor plates for the pilots seats. The final assemblies look a bit delicate, but really improve the accuracy of the seats. Originally, many of the interior parts were molded as “framing” because the model was first issued as a see-thru “phantom” helicopter. In real life, most of the cabin interior is covered in quilted soundproofing material. Kiwi Resin gives you a rear bulkhead and cabin ceiling covered in the correctly patterned soundproofing material. Access panels, dome lights, and control boxes are also molded in. On my ceiling panel the mounti

  11. The old Monogram/Revell 1/24 scale UH-1B is actually a pretty decent kit (awesome if you consider that it dates back to 1969), but it does not quite meet up to today’s level of quality. To make matters worse, there is essentially no aftermarket accessories available for it, until now. In the past year or so, two companies have stepped up and produced sets to improve this great old bird. They are Werner’s Wings with a truly awesome set of crew figures; and Kiwi Resin with a cockpit upgrade set. Since I am currently collecting the parts and references I need to build one of these models; I purch
  12. Damn, Chris is a great guy! I bough lots of his stuff, and got lots of help and advice! Hope everything is OK! Ken
  13. Did you get the decal lined up right? The purpose of the nose art was to help the boom operator of the refueling plane get lined up properly. One of the guys in my modeling cub did an inflight scene of this bird and a KC-135. Rally looked cool. So does yours! Ken.
  14. Thanks, that is exactly what I needed. Ken.
