murad
Another Merk, began about a week ago but i (was lazy) forgot to post here so here goes. It's gonna be OOB due to lack of detail sets available locally:
murad
Began with the anti slip application, after 2 hours straight this is the result so far. it's time consuming and labor intensive, hopefully the end result will pay off - it's malleable atm but past the paint stage i doubt i can reduce or increase anything...any comments wrt the scale of it is most welcome right now! Cheers.

murad
Painted and highlighted the details with vallejo acryclis and paintbrush, weathering with oil paints next.
murad
Washes and chipping with oil paints, will begin with pigments. Can't figure out the stance of the figure he's probably a bit tall no? thinking of trimming him from his ankles... Gun barrel isn't fixed yet.
arnobiz
Nice job, I did not know the IDF applied tracks on their turrets "panzer style"!

ST0RM
Hmm, I've got one of these in my for sale pile, but after seeing yours, I may reconsider. Liquid cement and baking soda for the anti skid? Great work. -Jeff
murad
Thanks guys. Hmm, I've got one of these in my for sale pile, but after seeing yours, I may reconsider. Liquid cement and baking soda for the anti skid? Great work. -Jeff Jeff yes, but instead of liquid cement i used hardware store cell. thinner (pretty much the same stuff probably anyway). i initially tried hairspray instead of cell. thinner - eventho it would be much less time consuming hairspray actually soften the carbonate where cellulose thinner didn't do much in that regard surprisingly. as for the kit it's a shake and bake tamiya kit! only issue i had was the towing cables which i substituted with copper fusing wire. More progress with weathering and the figure, still not finished but i'm almost there.

murad
hi, impressive work! i like your way to do preshading. The figure looks so real! I agree. The face is really impressive. Nicely done! Mike Thank you very much folks, this is my very first figure attempt in 1/35 , i guess years of gazing upon Shep's books and works had left a bit of an impression, apart from the beginners luck of course! Time for another update, haven't done anything with the vehicle since last post but i built a simple base and it's almost done now, i'm going to add a bit of vegetation and sprinkle tiny rocks around per the reference shot then continue with the remaining weathering of the tank: Edited November 21, 2014 by murad
SERNAK
WOW!!! What a fantastic build and it looks even better on its base!!!

Sebastian Haff
Wow! Incredible work. Would you happen to have a scan of the instructions? I started mine about 6 months ago, and it all came to a halt when I lost them. It's my first armor build and I was thoroughly enjoying it. Seeing yours makes me want to resume. Thanks
Sebastian Haff
Also, what color did you use for the main body?
murad
Sebastian thank you very much for the kind words, unfortunately i do not recall the color that i used on this build, nor do i have the instr. manual at hand to do a scan. i'd urge you to continue your build because the kit itself is lovely and the subject is very interesting imho. AVGBob
Love the pose on the base. Very dynamic.
Don
Murad, I missed this one and only found it because I am thinking of picking up a Merkava for my collection. So this is rather very late but well done Sir ! The anti-slip is top notch and looks quite good to my eyes. Don.
