John Adelmann
Man, am I embarrassed - I just can't find the styrene tires for my 1/32 Kitty Hawk AT-6 trainer! I have looked everywhere, and short of calling my wife in and vacuuming the entire studio and sifting through the wet/dry vac canister, I am up against it. I looked online for flattened resin tires, but can't locate any. This is a new kit, so after-market wizards might not have replacement ones made yet. I did send an email to Kitty Hawk, but I thought some of the pros might be able to suggest another solution. Maybe I have to break down and buy that goofy apron they sell in the Micro-Mark catalog after all!!! Thanks for any help here - JA
Shawn M
you can use P-51 wheels and tires, then make a simple disc for a cover if your desired airframe had them
CF104
Hey JA, Although the P-51 and T-6 used the same size tires(different ply ratings), the wheels are completely different. The T-6 used a lighter wheel equipped with drum and shoe type brakes. The P-51 had a heavier wheel equipped with a multi-disk brake assembly. The P-51 wheel will work but I'd recommend making a wheel cap to cover it up. The brake side can be modified to look like a T-6 wheel pretty easily.
