  1. Hi guys Another tidbit regarding Fw 190 A-series camouflage and markings: Fw 190 A-8 fighters of the 380 Werknummer block built by Mimetall Erfurt had RLM 74/75/76 camouflage with a high demarcation line and no mottling. The national markings consisted of the late war outline type and were were applied in the same style, size and position on all aircraft. A distinctive feature of this series is that the Werknummer was painted in a heavy, blocky style on both sides of the tail fin and in contrary to normal practice in a lower position above the tailplane. Horrido!
  2. Hi Ken As mentioned above the two volumes by Jerry Crandall on the Fw 190 D-9 fit what you are looking for. Unfortunately, as far as I am aware of there is no similar references for the BMW 801 powered types. The main factories for these included Focke-Wulf, Arado, AGO, Fieseler and NDW so it would be great if eventually something appears. According to Kagero Fw 190 at War Part I, Fieseler built Fw 190 A-8/R2 fighters exhibited a standard scheme of RLM 74/75/76 with heavy mottling of RLM 74/75 on the fuselage, white fuselage crosses filled with RLM 74 and black and white with black
  3. Hi guys I am wondering if any of the 1/48 scale aftermarket exhaust sets offered by Quickboost - Bf 110E exhaust for the Eduard kit (48-155), Bf 110C exhaust for the Eduard kit (48-163) or Bf 110 C/D exhaust for the Fujimi kit (48-167) would fit the Cyber-Hobby 1/48 scale Bf 110 D-3. I have read that the exhaust for the Bf 110 C/D/E was the same regardless of model type but has anyone tried using any of the above sets on the Cyber-Hobby kit? I would think that any of the above would work fine but would like to make sure. Horrido! Leo
  4. Hi guys Here is a link with more information on this particular aircraft: http://falkeeins.blogspot.com/2014/08/bf-109-g-6as-or-g-14as-wnr-unknown.html I hope that you find this useful and interesting. Horrido! Leo
  5. Hi guys My home computer which is running Windows 7 also has Office 2007 installed. Like Joel said it works for me and as far as I am concerned that is what counts. I use it for writing documents and occasionally spreadsheets so there is no need for anything more advanced or expensive. The laptop with Windows 10 has the 64-bit version of LibreOffice installed. It is basically compatible with Office in every way and so far I have never had any trouble importing or exporting Word or Excel files. The only let down is that the interface is pretty much stuck in the Office 2003 era without the ribb
  6. Hi guys I certainly would upgrade to Windows 10 especially since it is still free for those running Windows 7 and 8. I upgraded my Toshiba Satellite C55B laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 in August and aside of taking forever (about two hours to install) it went smoothly. I downloaded and installed the latest update for Windows 10 which is another three gigabyte download just like the Windows 10 upgrade itself yesterday and again aside of taking another couple of hours to install it went smoothly. I have used pretty much all Windows versions except for Vista and for what I use my computer

  8. Hello I think that it would depend on which version you are wanting to model. Hasegawa offers the late Ju 87 D (08076) and G (08075) versions while Trumpeter offers the early Ju 87 A (03213) and B (03214) versions in 1/32 scale. I have never read anything bad about the Hasegawa kits but it is my understanding that the Trumpeter kits suffer from an undersized nose as well as a few other problems. However, there is a correction set available for the Ju 87 B that addresses most of the problems: http://www.fawcettmodelsandpatterns.co.uk/1-32-junkers-ju-87-b2-r2-correction-set If you are looking
  9. Hi Marvin It is my understanding that all Gustavs, including the Bf 109 G-2/Trop that you are interested in, had the yellow fuel line with a clear section so that the pilot could visually check the fuel flow mounted along the starboard side. I hope this helps. Horrido! Leo
  10. Hi guys New built-up photos posted now: http://www.ipmsdeutschland.de/Flugzeuge/Wiegmann/Rev_Fw190F-8_32/Rev_Fw190F-8_32.html I just wonder what will the price of this kit be in the USA? Horrido! Leo
  11. Hi guys Some new images of the Revell 1/32 scale Fw 190 F-8 have appeared: http://www.plastik-modellbau.org/blog/testshots-gebaut-die-neue-focke-wulf-fw-190-f-8-von-revell-im-massstab-132/2014/ I have to say that the kit looks very nice from what can be seen and that I am quite surprised that it will include a complete engine as well which is a wonderful bonus. I do have to say that the gun cowl bulges appear to be rather exaggerated, though, much like the Hasegawa kit. http://www.plastik-modellbau.org/blog/testshots-gebaut-die-neue-focke-wulf-fw-190-f-8-von-revell-im-massstab-132/2014/ Ho
  12. Hi catfan You might want to look at the various resin detail sets on offer at Grey Matter Figures that were recently released for this particular kit: http://www.greymatterfigures.com/index.php?p=1&cat=65 I hope this helps. Horrido! Leo
  13. Hi guys Good question why in my opening post the name of the company was censored. I have written it before and nothing similar happened; possibly a technical glitch of some sort? Horrido! Leo
  14. Hi guys I was reading that it appears that Revell will be releasing a new tool 1/32 scale Fw 190 F-8 in March 2015. It will be interesting to see how this kit will compare to the existing Hasgawa kits and the upcoming Zoukei-**** kits. I would assume there will be other versions released as well. Horrido! Leo
