Models... duh!

Mostly special ops as far as aircraft are concerned (love that "M" designator), or special purpose built stuff.
1. The biggest thing you would have to do in the "minimum modification" option from an "A" is to scratch build the 105 and rearrange stuff back there to accommodate it. The more modern you get, the more work you'll need to do. When did your buddy get out? That would tell us what time frame you'd be building. There are people here FAR more knowledgeable than I am on what they looked like during a given time period.
2. Oh come on! Go for the custom build! All you need is the A model gunship and then scrounge up some 4 blade props. Depending on what time frame you build it in will determine the severity of the scratch building you'll need to do. :D
3. I'm still kicking. Just been a busy time here. Getting ready for my E6 board, just got refractive eye surgery done, got German jump wings, holidays are consuming time, PCS move coming up soon, wife's pregnancy is percolating right along (it's a girl, woo hoo!), and bla bla bla. You get the point. I have been eyeing it though. The itch to complete it is getting bad though. Thanks for checking in on me! I've been keeping tabs on the 2 AC-130 builds too, those guys are doing a great job!
4. Don't forget that the engine nacelles need extending too.
5. They are going well indeed. After I finish up one of our NCO schools, CBRN school, and jumpmaster school (senior wings should follow shortly thereafter), I'll be switching MOSs. Somewhere in there will be another promotion and a nice fat re-up bonus right about the time the next kid pops out. Fortuitous timing indeed. Like I said, busy busy busy. My apologies for letting this work languish and leaving all of you hanging. It will get finished, I just don't know when.

DIRCM Vs. LIRCM

All you have to do is make identical bases, then have separate turrets. Easy cheesy! And I vote for both scales.
7. Sorta... Upheaval times around here. Upcoming move to Arizona in the immediate future followed possibly by California and then Germany, so many schools over the next few months I can't even see straight, yet another promotion to prepare for possibly as early as January, and of course a pregnant wife on top of all that. Plus I twisted my ankle on a PT test today because they had the good sense to run it in the pouring rain, and I missed out on a totally cherry jump today as a result. But hey, now I can use my first cane! Yeah, I'm a little busy.
8. I swear, I'm not dead.
9. Schools. Plus... a potential move when my re-up window opens here shortly.
10. You two... I swear. The C-130 mafia has spoken!
11. Lengthening the nacelles is easy work, just tedious. As for the interior, do what you want. The only reason I bowed out of it on my CT2 is because I burned out on doing the endless and hyper involved detailing for my CT1. Hell, I'm still not finished with the cargo bay by half! I had to walk away and try something more relaxing like a custom CV-22B and an MC-130H, if that tells you anything. :)
12. Try here. It's under "cargo aircraft". Everything's looking good! I'd caution you on going whole hog on the interior though, it's a beast and a half even just working around the cargo ramp. So much is lacking as far as the interior is concerned with that kit, pretty much everything has to be done from scratch.
