1/43 Tameo Jordan Peugeot 197 restoration

Recommended Posts

Bought this as a "started" kit...right! It had a really bad paint job, primer & top color too thick/heavy, plus decals poorly applied, a couple parts broken or missing even though "all was there". Side note...Tameo Kits backs up their products, great customer service, fast email response, and will supply replacement parts/decals if they have them...so ask! I did have to pay for the replacements and shipping from Italy to Florida... I'm ok with that. Here are my before and during restoration pics..(it's been at least 10years since I last built a 43rd scale kit). Thanks for looking.

That's a great looking car. Tameo does have awesome service. Got all new pe parts when I lost the wing support for my Benetton. Totally my fault but they were great about it. Look forward to more.

...further progress...more assembly, and now painting...used Gunze Mr. Color no.5 Yellow with a hint of red...see color chip..arrows point to third try at matching the chip...thinned with Mr. Color Leveling thinner...works like a charm, just don't touch it. No need to polish paint as a smooth prime job makes for a smooth paint if thinned correctly..so no orange peel here. I will allow the paint to cure for a few days before starting further assembly and decal work. Color is a little washed out due to intensity of the work bench light.
