The lizards caught the one wire. The LSO will likely say something pointed during the debrief, but I figure it's not a bad effort for having no opposable thumbs.

I decided to leave most of the no-step decals off. While no doubt essential on the actual airframe, I've never liked the way those markings look, and this was one reason I'd never attempted a Sea Vixen before.

After all the faffing about with the oleos, the effect was not especially dramatic.

Here's the underside. I gave it a generous wash with some thinned india ink and stood it upright, figuring the wash would settle in the way rime and grime would do when the airframe was dogged down on the deck in rough weather. I think I overdid it. Lesson learnt. Instead of rectifying the matter, I am attaching the aircraft to the diorama so it can hang on my daughter's wall, where the underside won't get much attention.
